The aim of The Great Big Hyper-V Survey is to understand how Hyper-V is being deployed, used, and managed. This means that we ask questions about lots of subjects including the deployment project, the design of Hyper-V, the implementation of Hyper-V, how you manage it, and the private cloud. This information is gathered and shared, free of cost, so we can all get a better understanding of how we all are implementing Microsoft virtualisation technology.
The Great Big Hyper-V Survey is a project run by 3 Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals:
- Aidan Finn, Hyper-V MVP (Ireland) aka @joe_elway: Aidan is the lead author or Mastering Hyper-V Deployment, and a contributing author of Microsoft Private Cloud Computing, Mastering Windows 7 Deployment and Mastering Windows Server 2008 R2. He works as the Technical Sales Lead for MicroWarehouse, a Value Added Distributor based in Dublin, Ireland. Aidan has 15 years experience working in large and complex IT infrastructure, and specialises in deployment, virtualisation, and systems management. He is currently writing a new book called Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Installation and Configuration Guide.
- Hans Vredevoort, Hyper-V MVP (Netherlands) aka @hvredevoort: Hans is one of the authors of Microsoft Private Cloud Computing. He is a consultant with Inovativ in The Netherlands.
- Damian Flynn, Cloud & Data Center MVP (Ireland) aka @damian_flynn: Damian is one of the authors of Microsoft Private Cloud Computing. He is an IT architect with Lionbridge. He is currently writing a new book called Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Installation and Configuration Guide.
The survey is run completely indepdently of any corporate interests – in other words, Microsoft have nothing to do with it
